Rosemarie Garland-Thomson, professor of women's, gender and sexuality studies at Emory University, will discuss how the shape of the material world we build and occupy expresses and determines who inhabits it and how, together, we make human communities, on Monday, Feb. 27, at 7:30 p.m. in Weinstein Auditorium, Wright Hall.
Lecture: Women's Prominent Role in Middle East Peace
As part of the Arab lecture series "Perspectives on Peace: Through the Eyes of Palestinian Women," Palestinian writer Susan Abulhawa, author of Mornings in Jenin, will visit Smith on Wednesday, Feb. 29, to speak on "Women and Culture in Resistance," at 5:30 p.m. in Seelye 106.

It's nearly here: on Thursday, Feb. 23, five outstanding Smith alumnae will be honored with the Smith College Medal during Rally Day 2012. Hosts Five College Choral Festival
Nearly 500 vocalists will fill John M. Greene Hall with sonorous sounds of choral music during the annual Five College Choral Festival on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 7:30 p.m. Choirs from each of the colleges will perform before joining together to sing a work composed by Smith's Greg Brown.
